Take yesterday we somehow got on the subject of New Year's at lunch. One colleague went off on a tangent about all these resolutions she was making for 2017. Then there's me giving her serious side eye (don't judge me I'm working on that), like seriously!?! Yeah I get it...to each their own, but personally I don't believe the tired and true New Year New Me. A lot of it has to do with the five years I spent working in the fitness industry. Like clockwork, the fitness center would be empty from mid November until that first week of the new year. We ran specials, the place was packed, and by the end of February it was back to the "regulars".Usually those who didn't make any resolutions. They did however have a handful of goals there were striving towards. That's me. I'll be the first to admit my life isn't perfect. There are quite a few things I want to accomplish in 2017, but changes....negative. I'll stick to plugging away at the things that I can make an honest approach at improving my overall well being. That isn't to say I don't write things down. I just don't feel the need to make this laundry list of items I resolve to change, and within a few short weeks I'm back at square one.
This right here sums up my 2017 (and probably every year there after)
Do you typically set goals or resolutions for the New Year? Either way I would love to hear more on your approach going into 2017. Feel free to drop me a line or two.
Be Well,
LaToya
