One step forward, two steps back...

Confession time, I've fallen way off the wagon and I cannot blame anyone besides myself. My eating has been horrendous the last week or so.

It all started July 4th weekend. I had relatives in town, and they flooded my house with snacks, snacks, and more snacks. On top of this my mother has a catering business, so aside from eating out once she prepared some delicious meal. All of which I could not resist.

I ate and nibbled on foods that I typically do not have, let alone even keep in my house. Twizzlers, Swedish fish, potato chips, cookies, soda, etc. One top of all of this we went to Six Flags one day....so yes I had a hamburger w/ fries and a about three quarters if a funnel cake.

I did get up and run and do a P90x3 workout one morning, and tried to convince myself that the walking in the amusement park would burn some extra calories. Clearly that wasn't the case.

I called myself doing a clean sweep when they left Monday morning. I ate fairly well; having just cereal for breakfast and salads for lunch. My domino effect began Wednesday. My day started off bad with the kids, I had a mommy meltdown after work, and my husband and I had Chinese for dinner. Man oh man was it good.

That was just the icing on the cake. I skipped three straight days of P90x3 and walked on the treadmill. Yesterday was my day off and what did I do....nothing! Left over Chinese food, a Cinnabon & a slurpee because I took the kids to free 7-11 day.

Welp I gained back 3 of the 7 pounds I had lost. This is my usual cycle. I work hard, begin to see a little progress, gain some confidence, and the scale goes back up. Fingers crossed that this is the last time this happens.

To be continued....

(Wellness Wednesday) Count your Blessings...

When I first had the idea to start this blog, it was about a year or so ago. I was coming off depression, and was looking for an outlet. I opted not to because I couldn't think of a cool name. I knew I wanted to blog to about my strong desire to have it all. By having it all, I mean the perfect marriage, career, children, and body. Blogging over the past few months, I have truly grown. I've learned that while my marriage, children, career, and body are not perfect, I'm happy with my perfect imperfectly life. That doesn't mean that there are not bad days, but for the most part I am in a happy place. My husband and I have a great relationship. My children are adorable, funny, smart, and for the most part well-behaved. I'm not in my dream role, but I'm happy to be working in my chosen field. My body isn't where it used to be or where I feel it should be, but it is progressing. I say all of this, because I have seen a lot of social media posts about women being in the same postion. Truth be told, I know there are a ton of people who would love to be in my shoes. So before we begin bashing ourselves or each other, sometimes all it takes is doing some deep reflecting on what you have to truly make you appreciate everything.
