Wake Up & Lace Up!

Today was a "wake up & lace up" kind of morning! Something I miss, and love about the weekends. I got up around 5:40 to meet-up with my girl Christina for a easy, leisurely 3 mile run. Chris is one of my favorite run buddies, and she's a blast to run with.

We met up at 6:30 a.m. at UMBC. This was my first time running at UMBC, and I loved how convenient it was for me to get there. One of the things I have struggled with since we moved to Baltimore County, is finding areas where I can run. Being a Jersey Girl, I'm also not to keen on the city and not a fan of driving and then having to worry about parking for a running. So UMBC was perfect. About a 10 minute drive from my house, plenty of parking, and there were quite a few other runners and walkers out as well.

After hugs & run-chatting, Chris and I did a quick little warm-up. She gave me the ins & outs of the course, and we talked about a few upcoming raises. The first mile was completely up hill. Mile 2 was mostly downhill, as we did a little out and back type action. The third and final map we did a little loop through the campus, and we cross a bridge.

I enjoyed the route, and we plan to make this our regular Sunday routine. I'm aiming for 12 miles for the week, so that's 9 more to go!
